Excess water eventually drains into a landscaped ground-level bioswale. Lush tropical climbing plants, star jasmine, philodendrons, pothos, ferns and cascading greenery growing down the façade. Terracotta and red-oxide finished planter system. Visible rain chains carrying trickling water between planters. Existing white sun-shading devices retained and enhanced with climbing vegetation. Architectural expression combines sustainable retrofitting, biophilic design and passive environmental strategies. Foreground includes well-maintained university gardens, flowering shrubs, trimmed hedges, tropical lawn, pedestrian pathways, drainage channels and students walking, sitting, discussing and using laptops.
